In response to Donald Trump’s ban on refugees from seven Muslim countries, Mia Hasenson-Gross, Director of René Cassin, commented:

“Donald Trump’s ‘refugee ban’ is cruel, disproportionate and runs counter to international humanitarian law. René Cassin agree with broad swathes of civil society condemning Trump for his actions.

The fact that this ban was announced on International Holocaust Memorial Day acts as a reminder from history as to the tragic consequences of turning away vulnerable people.  We stand in solidarity with those who are fleeing for their lives, separated from their loved ones and searching for a better life, as we and our families were, not too long ago.

This is an opportunity for our Government to assert British values and take leadership.”

We’ll be joining thousands of people tonight at an emergency demo protesting the ban. For more details click here.
