Conceived in response to the Holocaust, the Universal Declaration of Human Rights – the foundation of all subsequent human rights instruments – turns 75 on 10 December 2023. What is the Declaration’s significance and how can it guide us in today’s troubled world? Two of the UK’s leading experts discuss the past, present and future of human rights law, and answer questions from our invited audience.

With:

  • Professor Philippe Sands KC, Director of the Centre on International Courts and Tribunals, University College London
  • Baroness Helena Kennedy KC, leading barrister and expert in human rights law
