As we celebrate Rosh Hashanah, the Jewish New Year, we invite you to celebrate with us key days with unique significance for human rights.

It is fitting that Rosh Hashanah, when we share our wishes for hope and change, coincides with the anniversary of the Human Rights Act coming into force. In bringing rights home, the Human Rights Act also brought hope for a new future.
This year, during Rosh Hashanah, we also mark the anniversary of the birth of our namesake, Monsieur René Cassin. As the author of the Universal Declaration of Human Rights, the first international set of human rights principles, it represented a vision for a new post-war beginning where dignity, peace, and hope formed the groundwork for our Human Rights Act.
So, as we wish you, Shana Tova, we also raise a glass for Monsieur René Cassin and the Human Rights Act.
